Fantastic resort in Kumarakom - well maintained property, clean, manicured. Suite was spacious, comfortable and the pool was clean and nice. Outdoor bathrooms were unique experience! Lots of activities for kids including kayaking, fishing, carrom etc. Ayurveda spa was also nice. We did a boathouse overnight stay, lunch cruise and a canal cruise. The last one was my favorite as it takes you closer to the bird sanctuary and villages.

Staff was very friendly and special mention to activity coordinator Kavi who took some great family photos!

Tough to find too many negatives, minor gripes were the mosquitoes and bugs (which are to be expected in the backwaters).

Overall, a wonderful resort for a family vacation!

Wonderful landscaping, good rooms,good food.House boats are good ,well maintained.They serve good food on board.Grest place for photographywonderful sea food restaurant.The Ayurveda spa is great place to destress yourself.

My husband and I went to Kumarakom Lake Resort to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday.

We were spoiled rotten from the moment we stepped on to the property.
All the staff are exceptionally attentive, kind and smart. Just quality human beings.

My husband is vegan and he basically had personalized service for every meal with special vegan food cooked for him everyday INCLUDING dessert. It was unbelievable. The food was really delicious possibly some of the best we've had in the world (I am now a fan of Kerala cuisine). It was also exceptionally healthy which was so nice because we didn't feel heavy after every meal.

Akshay at the restaurant took special care of us everyday and painstakingly explained each and every dish for all 10 or so meals we had at the restaurant. He is really special.

We had a nice surprise on the cruise when we discovered the activity manager, Kavi is a bit of a celebrity photographer. He took photos of us that were honestly better than my wedding pictures. He's also really humble for someone who's such a big deal. I posted the photos on social media and everyone was blown away by the work he did.

On my birthday, Arun arranged a beautiful private dinner for me and my husband as a surprise and we had a personal waiter Adith. Adith was so much fun to have around because he taught me how to eat each of teh dishes Kerala style in the right combinations. I honestly had the best birthday ever with everyone at Kumarakom. They sure know how to make a gal feel special!

Other than that, Chef Printo was amazing as were Arathy, Alan and I think Ashwini from guest relations.

The place is gorgeous with an amazing yoga instructor. I did yoga every morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. I just felt so healthy and good.

The Ayurveda treatments are good- but not amazing. I feel like they can maybe do a bit better there especially with the consult etc. They can really make it very cool if they give you a detailed questionnaire and recommendations on dietary guidelines etc. Would add a really nice touch.

I found the massage prices too high. I also didn't like that the rooms were open so in the one facial I had I was being eaten by mosquitos which wasn't pleasant.

The only other negative was the mosquitos which really tortured me but they didnt seem to bother my husband so much.

I would also say that I found some of the food wayyy overpriced. I think they can improve on that.

Overall I would return in a heartbeat. It was so much fun. They have multiple activities in the resort and you just don't know how time flies. I felt like all teh staff became my friends. I have so much respect for each of them and it is so rare to see people who really care. I hope the management of the resort takes care to recognise and retain them.

Additionally, the staff at Resort were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout my stay. From the moment I arrived until the time of departure, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Their genuine hospitality and willingness to assist with any request added an extra layer of enjoyment to my overall experience. Aleena was exceptionally kind to constantly check on us throughout the day. Thank you so much. Even when my wife asked for a fruit that they didn't carry in their restaurant, they had someone get it from market for us which was prepared and left in an ice container fresh in our room for when we get back. They also surprised us with a special made anniversary cake. Amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel special.
The resort itself boasted breathtaking surroundings, with pristine landscapes and awe-inspiring views. There is a direct access from the villas into a pool which was nice. The attention to detail in the vintage design and maintenance of the property was evident, creating a tranquil and luxurious ambiance.

Luxury at its best. Amazing location, a lot of activities that can be done throughout the day. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Must try their ayurvedic spa.

This was not my first and will not be my last vist to KLR, my favorite hotel in Kumarakom. It's a wonderful place!! The best rooms are the private pool villas with lots of privacy. Don't miss the treatments at the Ayurveda Center!!

The Kumarakom Lake Resort is the best holiday or vacation spot our family has been to in the recent past. Our airport pick up was perfect. It was a good 2-hour ride from Cochin airport to the resort. Half the travel is on narrow roads, so if you have any motion sickness, be prepared! The day we checked in there was about close to 40 guests vacating the resort, the entire staff were running around trying to send them all out in a timely fashion. The initial 10 minutes contributed to some confusion though, the front office staff were in constant communication regarding the situation and helped us settle! The staff are extremely wonderful. Srilakshmi, Dhanush and Driver Vishnu get a special shout out! We have stayed at many places before, but there is something worthwhile to mention here, the ambience, the traditional construction and the details of it, along with the layout and the lake view made it all worth everything. The curio shop within the resort is ok too, but I found it very expensive. The food was excellent. The buffet for dinner, lunch and breakfast were good. However, Vempanad Restaurant was worth every bit! The lakeview bungalow was really good. The private pool is a large jacuzzi tub than a swimming pool. The four day stay was exactly what we hoped for. I have to make a special mention about the Ayurveda Massages we went to. They are the best. Plan on taking advantage of them. Yes, the entire stay was worth it and I would redo it.

It's a great property over looking vembanad lake . Awesome food and great hospitality. All the staffs are courteous. And you have an amazing photographer kavi who can take amazing photos with your mobile and house cleaning staff are amazing with each day giving a new towel art. A beautiful Ayurveda spa with dedicated therapist. If you want a real break out of your normal routine just go for it .

The food was delicious, Ayurvedic massages were so effective and the ambience of this place was what I needed to break free from the hustling life. Definitely, coming back !
