From the turbulent waters of the raging Periyar river to the soothing blue tones of the swimming pool I felt a pervading sense of being cosseted in an environment that was safe, caring and consistently professional. There was something about the way that the huts were designed and furnished that one was always close to the immaculately maintained grass segments that dominate the estate. I also discovered that opening a door from my shower compartment took me to a walled in shower open to the sky. That was a glorious experience. I am not a yoga enthusiast but the yoga session was professionally and charmingly rendered and the venue was glassed in, spacious and becalming. I came away with the feeling that I may just want to try it again. However, more than anything else my lasting impression will be of a dedicated, professional team from the COO to the ladies that tended the lawns, acting in concert to add a daily increment to the performance of every yesterday. Noteworthy details: The staff from the CEO down were truly dedicated to serving the customer. The Retreat was really well run. Peaceful as a word comes to mind. The overall design of the hut I lived in, the green spaces, the pool, and the quality of food will always be the memories that come to mind when I think of Namami.
