I am 4 days into my 7 day stay at this little gem of a retreat. I love the simplicity of everything. The tranquility amazing healthy foods and the beautiful kind and caring staff. The staff go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. They make the place feel like home. Many people come back year after year after trying other centres, they love this one the best, and I can see why.

Beautiful rest and treatment!
When we first came to Ceylon at the Villa Velmarie Hotel- I didn't believe people came six or more times. And here's 2025-- we've had our third consecutive year of vacation and treatment at Villa Velmari. It's a complete relaxation and recovery complex! Everything is just wonderful-- soulful staff, delicious food, cleanliness and connection with nature. Now we have no doubt we will return here again! Huge thanks to owners and employees for their sensitivity and care! I recommend it!
This year, my husband and I visited Villa Velmarie for the second time. Last year, we stayed for 14 days after a prior trip around Sri Lanka, which suited us very well, especially me, due to my health condition. I felt constant improvements, even months after returning home. That

This pearl of Ressort, small but fine impressed us in many ways:
this wonderful ancient tree cover with diverse secluded corners to feel good and relax...
the Ayurvedic healing art where we alone were given a 10-day course (which was only held for the two of us) to gain a wide variety of insights...
the individually tailored treatment and nutrition, both of which were professionally very good and healing...
the warm-family coexistence, where a solution was found for every request, where in the kitchen you can also look over the chef's shoulder and we got many tips regarding Ayurvedic cooking, where a guest's birthday was an invitation to coffee and cake for everyone, where after each room cleaning the bed was festively decorated with flowers etc.
We stayed at Villa Velmarie for three weeks between January 25 and February 15, 2025. We were at an ayurveda retreat for the first time, so we have nothing to compare it to, but we are delighted and definitely plan to return next year. The whole program is very well organized, consultations with the doctor are every three days. The doctor is professional and kind, and doctor Ishara, who replaced him because he was away due to illness during our stay, is a wonderful and professional lady. The program includes a daily yoga class and two massage therapies per day. Medicines prescribed by the doctor are given with breakfast and dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are self-service and the lovely and friendly chef Milton prepares very tasty Ayurvedic meals. The villa itself is not the newest, so don't expect luxurious accommodation, but you have everything you need, and the most important thing is that everything is clean because the roomboy does an excellent job. What I liked most was the large, beautiful and very well maintained (thanks to gardenboy) garden with a large swimming pool. Basically, all in all, an excellent price-quality ratio. In the end, I must say that our stay would not have been so nice and pleasant without our wonderful housekeeper Chandrika, who fulfilled all our wishes, and without my therapist Lakna, the dearest creature in the world, and a young therapist whose name, unfortunately, I did not remember. Basically, thank you all for an unforgettable stay and see you next year, Sanja and family

This is the best Ayurvedic retreat resort in Sri Lanka, and you should absolutely go.
On the day of your arrival, you will be met by an Ayurvedic doctor who, after taking a detailed history, will develop a food, medical, and treatment plan tailored to your unique requirements. Tablets and syrup will be served at breakfast and dinner.
They offered herbal refreshments at 7:30 a.m. before starting the Yoga practice at 8 a.m. Consultation with an Ayurvedic specialist to create a plan.
Every day, Ayurvedic herbal oils are used in Ayurvedic treatments. Ayurvedic meals are appropriate for all body types and aim to balance and cleanse the body.

Good time, man. We rested from October 27 to November 10, 2024, a group of 11 people from Kazakhstan, including my daughter Anelle and granddaughter Amina, 10. The rest was wonderful, a very friendly group. The procedures are all well thought out and very convenient in timing. An attentive doctor and massage therapists are very qualified. The villa is in a quiet location close to the beach and the sea, by the way very clean. Doing yoga every morning. The meals are classic for local cuisine, fish and chicken and were always given 5 times. For us there was a little spicy food and rice every day with all sorts of local sauces and vegetables, fruit and juices every day. A wonderful chef led a master class cooking local food with fish. Shops and shops are a five-minute walk away, you can buy anything you want. Everything's great, except there were mosquitoes in the room and no mosquito sticks to save. It is advisable to put mosquito nets on the door and treat the area for mosquitoes. Mosquito bites caused slight swelling and blisters. Overall, the experience of the holidays is good. I thank the entire Villa Velmara team for my introduction to Sri Lanka and the culture of this country.
